2008 Style key fits my 2003?

Just wondering if I can order the new style 2008 style Ford keys and have them cut for my truck.

Just another simple mod I'd like to accomplish.

Just something simple like this...

2008-2010 Ford Superduty F250 F350 Key Blank OEM R0479 : eBay Motors (item 130361904108 end time Feb-24-10 16:27:28 PST)

7 bucks... just a better looking key so it doesn't look like its from 1991.

It will still work as long as you dont have the PATS option like the Excursion has. Most 03's didnt have it. In fact you can get the fob key combo from the new Taurus and it would turn the locks. I dont know if you could program the fob. I will check the programming procedure first. If it is the same it might work. I would try to program the remote before I cut the key.

Ford has used the same 8 cut key pattern since 98 on all of their cars and truck including the Lincs and Mercs. Some started the new key way in 96.

Okay, I'm reading through this thread wondering what point there is to it. The reason I say this, is because Ford Super Duty trucks did NOT start using PATS keys until 2008 model years onward. This is EXCLUDING Excursions of course, which have used PATS since its 2000 to 2005 model year run.

That being said, WHY would anyone want to spend THAT much more money on a PATS key that is not even needed?

No just the new style key. I have a VIPER remote start, keyless, and alarm that I use so no need for the key fob.

So that's a yes, I can use the new style key?
