do you have a stick to change from 4x4 to 2wd, or is it the shift on the fly? If it is the manual transfer case, look at it, and see if it has 2 inputs on hte shifter linkage. If it does, there might be a kit for it, I know there are kits for some older tranfer cases..... but I do not know about ours...... if it does have twin inputs, and there is not a kit, you might beable to make something up?
My bro did a twin stick on his jeep and he has 2wd low. Anyone else know about the transfer cases? |

Get lower gears. Maybe some 4.88s thta will solve your problem lol. Dont really see why you would need lower gear anyway.

just use 4-low and get-r-done.
If the hubs aren't auto-locking then you will be golden. |

For the OBS trucks, it is just put it in 4low and leave the hubs unlocked.

And all the ford transfer cases are single stick with a single input. I always wanted to twin stick one of these but an Atlas II is just way to much.

I know there "was" a way to do it on back on the 99 2000 year models. Not sure if wiring etc. remained the on the subsequent year models. It was a simple matter of snipping a wire wire and routing that wire to a switch that you installed inside the cab.
I have the instructions and some photos stored somewhere. I'll try to find them. |

Here is a link from way back when......LINK
And here is another link with some instructions LINK I snipped the red wire as the instructions in the link above implied, and it did not work for me, so I just put it back together and forgot about it. Later in the thread, the fella says ("oops") to cut a different wire. I never tried it. It is just as easy to just unplug the harness. |

Just unplug the vacum line that runs to the hubs. Easiest place to do this is at the vacum reserve canister on the passenger side. Transfercase will shift into 4 low but hubs will not lock giving you 2 low.
