Thinking of an Excursion
So I've been thinking of replacing my '05 Chevy 1/2T crew cab with a Diesel Excursion.
I have not read a whole bunch about the powerstrokes, just what I've heard from various people. So my question is, is the 6.0L as bad as the stories that I've heard? What are the common problems and fixes for them. What should I look for (or what years)? Or should I skip the 6.0L and stick with an 00-02 7.3L? |

The 7.3 is less powerful more reliable but has a worse transmission. The 6.0 is faster and more powerful and has an AWESOME transmission. There are a few things that need to be done to the 6.0 to make it as reliable as the 7.3. Just need headstuds and a egr delete and your good to go. Then you can through a tune at it and put down 400hp to the tires.
Either way, great choice and do it for sure |

Diesel Excursions are sweet, I havn't seen too many 6.0 excursions running around. i vote yes. there both great motors but i would say you will be happier with a 6.0 if you do the upgrades..
