torque convertor?

I am looking for a torque convertor for my 05...so far i've found a BD for $795, an ATS for $1390, and a Suncoast which I have no price for. I'm just curious if anyone has had any experience with these products or any other. My stock convertor is working fine for now but its only a matter of time...any help with my situation would be appreciated.thanks

the torque converter problem was an E4OD/4R100 problem. I have not seen ONE torque converter failure on the torqueshift....which is what your truck has. That tranny was designed by Allison and i would not waist your money on a torque converter since there has been no sign that that converter weak, which was the problem with the other trannies......Marc

torque convertor 2

thanks for the info Marc, its good to hear from someone who knows first hand...the convertor just seems to slip more than I would think it should, doesnt really seem to be putting power to the ground. Is this normal of this tranny? I consider myself pretty mechanical but auto trannys confuse me!

Remember that the trucks computer controls the tranny also. It will shift different on temp, and throtle posistion.

if your talking about the "lag" from takeoff....thats actually the motor and turbo not quite being prepared for a hard accel.....i would bet your converter actually isnt the problem....plus there are also electrically controlled solenoids in the trans that can allow some slippage internally depending on what they are told to do based on info from sensors that the PCM gets........Marc
