PICS ADDED!!!!! As some may remember I had bought new 37s and had them on with the ICON 2.5 and they rubbed very little. I didn't even mess with trimming.Anyway my buddy wanted the tires and I was going to try to sell my truck and make a little money. So he gives me 1300 plus some 35 mud grapps and 37 toyos that were on his about 1/4 to 1/3 tread each for a 20. So I couldn't pass it up since I just payed 1500 for my tires new down at the shop I ork at with no tax at cost. So I sold the grapps for 225 and pretty much have the toyos sold for 200. Well I decided to keep the truck and thought what the heck just order the 38s since they were just 60 more dollars. Well I put all the stuff back on (shocks,2.5 kit, exhaust) and mounted the 38x13.50x20 toyo mts. Before I drove it I just went ahead and took the two push in plastic thing out from the bottom of the inner fender under the door and cut a slice in the piece where it would slide towards the back of the truck about 1.5-2 inches and drilled new holes and pushed them back in and it hasn't rubbed yet except the radius arms which is common on just 35s. I even drove offroad to a little git to gether last night and still haven't heard it touch.I' probably going to go up another 2 inches because I miss having some lift and the 38s are almost to stuffed but I couldn't believe it. Sorry for the long post but just had to share that and hoefully I can get pics tuesday with the truck turning and a little cleaner. I can't believe nobody has tryed this yet which I'm sure someone has done it.That just shows with stock wheels and moving the inner fender a little(20 minute deal) can get some great axle clearance with a big tire and minimal lift. Only on a :icon_ford:

I just did the exact same thing on Saturday to my truck. I'll see if I can get some pics if you can't. Super easy thing to do and sure beats cutting the crap out of your plastic wells. This gained me about 1.5" of clearance!

I believe them, I just want to see what it looks like! I want bigger tires and hate tall lifts. I'd like to run 37s or 38s and most folks keep saying it can't be done without hitting the fenders, so I'd love to see some good pics with the wheels cut etc.

My thinking exactly. I've been thinking about getting the bigger tires and just trying it. I figured if they hit the sheetmetal I'd go with Bushwhacker cut out flares, but DANG them things are big! If I bought some 38s and then had to go to cut out flares they'd look puny in those giant wheel wells...:hehe: Then I'd wish I'd gotten 42s... and I didn't want to go THAT big...

I got the pictures and tried to load them and the net would let me on but wouldn't load the photos and I just got back to my trailer and the pics are on her camera. Maybe I can get them on today it's freakin come a flood here the last two days but the truck was fairly clean when I took the pictures yesterday. I can't believe how much taller it looks than just regular leveled out truck. Sorry again guys just be patient my school scehdule blows and is spread out but Ill get them up. I got a pic of the numbers on the tire to prove it to for the technical guys.

Well my girlfriends internet isn't workin so she can't email me the pics of the whole truck tonoight but here are the clearance pics the inner fender one was hard to capture. There is about a 1/2 " clearance but I haven't zip tied it back any because it hasnt rubbed even when I jumped some curbs. Maybe some full truck pics tomorrow.

I may very well go this route.

I had taken these with my camera the others are on hers but I really sets it off plus with a 37 or 38 your addin about an inch or so of lift over truck with 35s also. People just can't believe it's as tall as it is.

That looks awesome!!! I love it! Thanks for posting the pics!:thumb:

One question left, how will the tires hold up being a 13.5" width and being run on a 8" wide rim?

#21 ·
this tires overall diameter is 37.7" which is only .7" larger then the 37x13.50x20 so its not much of an increase in size, I know at full turn they will rub on the plastic inner fender, the reason why these work is the wheel and offset, they are on a stock wheel which is only 8" wide. I run 37.4" tires on my dually with a 8.25" wide wheel...

I have an icon pan rod that just come in (thanks to truck toyz) so I'm thinking of putting the 2.5 inch spacer on the top of the spring and powdercoating it red to give me 5 inches of lift. I have the cams so I thought about going ahead with the lift and then buying the drop brakets and taking out the cams. Someone told me 4 inches of lift is max without the brackets.

The front one I can but the back one has a hanger on top so it's not an option. I was kind of in a hurry I put on the shocks ,exhaust, leveling kit, tires, and overloads and block in the back before lunch by myself that morning so it's no suprise I didn't find that. Thanks for pointin it out some things I just don't know what I was thinkin the first time I had the exhaust on it was pointed up.

Its about to get a 2.5 spacer put on top of the lift spring to gimme 5". I already have a icon pan rod and the cams I
m gonna put it on and space down my sway bar and see how it drives. It'll be a week or so though.
