lope idle tunes

was noticing some trucks have a lope tune on there tuner or chip. besides sounding cool, is this harmful or anything?

To my understanding it dont hurt nothing on the 7.3's. Now on the 6.4s thats a different story I hear.

I dont think its bad. I know a few guys with em. Im pretty sure RCD makes a lope for a 6.0, my buddy had one from them and sounded good.

Thats only if it tries going into high idle. Otherwise its fine as far as i know.

IMO, it sounds like there's something wrong with the engine. Especially with all the black smoke when it's revved. But to each his own I guess.
