I was changing my oil on my '05 and found that you can’t pre-fill the filter like I could on my '99 7.3 or most other cars/trucks that use an upright screw on style... I have always filled my filters, and got almost instant pressure… With this one it took about 7-10 seconds for pressure and I was wondering if this would starve the engine for oil? You would think ford would have thought of this, so is that standard procedure for the 6.0 engines.... Drop the thing in and crank-it? Sounds like a possible chance for cavitations and pre-mature bearing wear. Am I doing it rite?...
