MPG's! Mileage programmers

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, FINALLY got my dream truck about 2 months ago. Its an 07 F250 6.0. Lifted with 37' tires.

I have Banks intake and exhaust, and I was going to get a chip or programer to get the most for my mileage, and I was wondering what the general concensus was when it came to which was best. I know the tires and lift hurt mileage, but for what I do with my trucks I need to keep them.

So what do you guys think?

with custom tunes is the only way to go for the 6.0

I got a SCT, and thought (after some reading) that I'd get better fuel mileage, but I didn't find that I did. Now some have seen vast improvments, but not all. The reason I say this is, don't get a rogrammer JUST for MPG increase, you may want to kick yourself afterwards. I didn't get mine for the MPG's, I got it for the POWER

This is the one I have http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/per...sel-tunes.html

You will need to have it unlocked by SCT, and then you can retrieve your strategy and send it to the tuner of your choice. My choice is Innovative diesel. I have also heard gerat things about Cale's, and Elite's tuning

Extra power would be nice, but I heard so many bad thigs about blowing up these 6.0's that I thought I'd just play it safe and go for mileage...I'll check out SCT...Thanks!

You just have to use the power responsibly. Get some gauges, and watch them when you're out "playing". Sometimes things will happen even if you're being careful though

this man preaches the truth. you will not get enough of a mpg improvement to make it worth the cost. if your worried about blowing up your motor then maybe you dont want a tuner. either way theses truck are expensive and cost alot to fix and manitain. im tuned and i wouldnt go back to stock. i didnt see a drastic change in mpgs with the tuner. the power was what i was after.
