Decoding VIN or OASIS reports?

Can I just walk into any Ford dealership and ask for an Oasis report on my truck? I bought the truck recently, after a careful inspection by a friend, but now that I know that an OASIS report can be run, I feel the need to have one done. If nothing else, at least to see some history on this truck (bought it from a dealer... low miles, but no history). Is there an easy way to decode a vin for options? Also, is it okay to ask for Carfax reports here? Thanks!

FWIW, I just called my dealer (with much apprehension.. lol!!), and they read me my Oasis over the phone (told me I could pick it up when I drop my truck off for the two recalls that came up: FICM Reflash and Negative Battery terminal). So far, very nice folks over there. Good news was that they confirmed that I have a Torqshift and 3.73 rear end... I had no idea. Nice!
