Shell Rotella 5w40 T6

Has anyone used the new formula Shell Rotella T6? I saw one gallon of it at Wal-Mart for $19.50 in North Austin, TX. I did some research online and it is said to be a group IV base oil, a higher base stock than Shell Rotella T version. The T6 version is supposed to be more competitive to Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck, Valvoline PBE and Amsoil for extended use with proper filtration. I've been running Mobil 1 TDT for the past several oil changes. I was intrested in trying the Shell T6...but Wally world didnt have enough supply

Does it have a blue bottle? I just put some rotella synthetic in last month. Not sure if it is the T6 though?

Yeah...it's the blue bottle. Says T6 on it (Shell Rotella). I'm looking for top quality for the most economical price. The Valvoline was $27/gallon at NAPA here and Mobil 1 is $22/gallon and the T6 was $19.50/gallon. Seems like the Shell T6 is a good bargain...

if its the blue bottle then thats what i put in the truck. seems ok to me. for the price and availability thats what i'll be using.

The T6 is a replacement for the 5w-40 Rotella T full synthetic. There is a new "family" of Shell Rotella oils (there is also a T5 synthetic blend and a "Triple" 15w-40 dino oil).

These look like a new formulation, they tout reduced wear and better emissions performance. They also claim the T6 is extended-drain capable.

I have 4 jugs of the T6 I got at my local auto parts store for $19.50/gallon, I'll be putting it in in about 500 miles.

I run 5/40 Rotella syn in my truck (blue bottle) year round and all my UOA's have been pretty good.

Im running it! Full syn Rotella 5 40. MUCH better than the 15 40 stuff.

I just dropped the Shell Rotella T6 in last night after putting 6,000 miles on Mobil 1 TDT. The new Shell T6 seems to be performing just as well. It's cheaper by a few bucks so I'll stick with Shell Rotella T6 for now...and I like the fact that it's now uses Group IV base stocks to be directly competitive with Mobil 1

Ive been running the Rotella syn 5-40 for about 20k now and love it!! Its 19.50 per gallon here in Missouri
