Exclamation Oil temp sender

I just picked up some new gauges and im not sure where to install an oil temp sender. the only place that i see is in the stock location by the oil filter. Is there a better place?

I'd probably drill and tap the HPOP cover, this oil would be post cooler so would be a great place to take a reading, someone might have a better location though.

There are metal oil filter caps available with a threaded plug, maybe the sensor would work there.
On other vehicles I have used the oil drain plug.
