The Edge Platinum Juice with Attitude

So I've had my mind kinda set on gettin' the Edge. I don't really want an SCT. I know that most people on here have the SCT with Cumstom Tunes, but I don't really want that. I want something different. People say on here, that I would have tranny problems if I didn't have the SCT well, I looked on another forum and I talked to a lot of people that had the Edge that hasn't had a single problem yet. The only thing modded on their trucks was just the chip, no air intake, exhaust, studs or anything; just pure stock besides the chip and some have had the chip for a pretty good while and some have had it only a few weeks and some have towed majorly and others use it as a DD.

well, there are people who have not any tranny problems with edge products, but there are quite a few who have.....alot of people have SCT because its pretty darn good stuff, but it's your truck....so get whatcha want.

I was in the same boat didn't need anything spectacular for my truck so i went with the Edge with the attitude monitor from a local dealer. My 2000 is stock except for a 4" MBRP. I have had it almost a year and run it in the Race or 4 out of 5 settings bc i have found i get the best gas milage in that setting. I do mostly rural driving with minimal towing from jet skiis to a BobCat trailor. Chip showed significant increased driving performance as well as 3-5 MPG more. Still the original tranny but has only been chipped for 1 year. No complaints this far.

Yeah, mine is mostly stock. Of course, you have the 7.3 I would imagine considering your truck year is an '00 and I have the 6.0, so I don't know if that would be a difference or not.

I have driven a 6.0 with that same module in it and the egts were uncontrolable on the hot setting... 1600+ very easy... Smoke was ridiculas as well... The defueling at each shift point is retarted too... felt like ya hit the brakes every time it shifted

Yeah, mine's an automatic though. Well, that's just the thing... some people have problems and some people won't. I wouldn't run mine on hot hardly ever. I'd run it on 2 most of the time. In fact, one of my friends has an '04 just like mine, automatic and everything, pretty much identical. The only difference is the color and his has more miles. Geared same, 6.0, etc. all the same and he hasn't had any problems on his.

Yeah, that is a pretty crazy temperature. I'd be a little scared too.

If you have your heart set on the Edge, go for it. The only thing I can add is that there's a lot of reasons most modded 6.0's use the SCT with custom tunes.

Yeah, I would guess that makes sense. Somehow, it just seems like a lot of trouble though.
