Ok, any regular dummy here.....
I think I have glow plugs going bad. 102,000 miles '05 6.0.
All regular noises I hear when I turn the key are there and sounding normal. But, when the temp outside gets down to 35 or below.....it starts and sounds like it's running on about 6 cylinders for a short time.
One morning, I didn't plug it in and it was about 24 degrees. It would hit, then quit. Did it about 4 times before (sounding like it was running on 6 cylinders).
It always smooths out after a few minutes though.
I'm thinking glow plugs? Is this a safe bet without checking out all the other modules? I'm a fireman, not a mechanic...I don't really know how to do that?
And, are glow plugs something an idiot like me can pull off?
Thank you gentlemen in advance!
