I intend on doing it as soon as I get that cash, just to make sure it never does happen.

Head Studs

I bought the truck unknowingly with blown head gaskets, from a local reputable dealership believe it or not. Had the studs put in while it was being fixed.

Is it possible that one would have done preventive maintenance and still blow a gasket?

assuming one put arp studs in it's unlikely unless one is doing some serious hot rodin or crazy mods

Mine blew with an Edge Platinum, on Tow setting, pulling about 10k. ARP studs in there now for about 70k miles with no issues.
