Programmers and Factory Warranty
How have you been treated by the dealerships if you have a problem, do they try to void your warranty because of your programmer? I know that most programmers you can put it back to stock settings, but the dealership still can see ghost codes, if they hook up to your computer, let me hear from someone that has dealt with this issue...

If you are under factory warranty and you take the vehicle for repair with any modification, they must prove your modification caused the issue. i.e. If you have bumper to bumper and you lift your truck and put big tires on it and take it in for warranty work on, say, your A/C system, they cannot deny that claim because of your mods. Now, if you take that lifted truck in and say your rear end is gone they can deny it by blaming the rear end failure on the heavier tires than what was factory equipped.
I said that to say this: if you take a truck in with an engine problem and they see you have a tune, most likely they will deny the warranty as they can blame the engine problem on the tuning. I have an SCT running custom tunes and I have revert my truck back to stock a day or two before I take it in for dealer work and have not had one single problem. They have hooked a computer to truck each time searching for my problems. Just got three injectors replaced the 23 of Dec (under warranty) Hope that helps. |
