Pipe Covering

Hey guys! I'm not real sure what pipe this is, but I've seen a few of you guys engines without the black thermal wrap around this pipe. Would it be okay to remove? And would it void my warranty, or hurt/help my engine?

Mine has a small tear in it too, and it seems really easy to remove.. so can I?

THANKS GUYS!

Interesting....what MY do you have. My MY '05 was never like that...it also doesn't have the hood liner. Was this covering used to keep the CAC tubes cooler?

This is your turbo boost tube. The wrap is to prevent the transfer of heat for the intake. But im not sure witch is better, cus the compression of the air creates heat and the eng creates heat. I just depends on whats dominating. If the intake creates allot than take it off but if it doesnt, then keep it on to prevent the heat of the eng.

Okay...Okay...I realize now that I wasn't signed in...jeez. So I guess this is another missing item from later MY's. Ford was leaning out their overhead...I wish I had the hood liner though.
