installing remote starter

well guy's im sick of frezzing my a$$ off starting my truck in the morning. so i think im going to install a remote start i was just woundering if anyone has installed one and how hard was it? or should i just pay someone to do it? i was wanting to hook it up so when my glow plug light gose out it will crank is it possible? thanks

never installed one and dont wanna lol. i hear there a pain to do. i think its like $179 installed so i would go that route. i love my remote start. your gonna too.

I thought when you bought a good one the install was included.
In any case thats one of those things I would not trust myself to do.

I have installed two Viper's in 7.3's it's not that hard, just time consuming. You will need a list of what wires are what under the dash.

Well I searched and searched to find one that had quality, but wouldn't break the bank. What I came up with was one from Audivox. I went to one our local stereo shops (actually the biggest) and they highly recommended one from Audiovox. Anyway, mine was $240 installed and it also has keyless entry...

ive called a couple places up here about installing a starter and they say they want 300 more to install because its a diesel witch i think is a rip

I have an audiovox in mine. Came with it when I bought it. Works great.

Its impossible to hook it up to the wait to start light on a 2002 or later ford diesel. The dash cluster is controlled over the can network. You'll have to use a time delay setting. 15 seconds works fine for mine.

thanks for the link it will comw in handy if i try to do it. do you have to change the 15 sec delay come summer time? or dose it still start good?

not fun to do i payed for mine to be done .......... my buddie did his own and his 05 PSD caught fire in the middle of the night ......... something for ya to think about
