05+ EGR Block ?

Can you purchase the EGR block off plate and then just zip tie back the actual EGR valve so you won't throw a CEL? Or is there a better way to block off the EGR while still under warranty and NOT throw a CEL w/out running an SCT?

I'm in CA., so I will have to visit the smog man down the road, but don't mind having to reinstall the EGR valve itself if needed.

For a fraction of the price of the egr plate, you can purchase another egr valve on ebay and weld it shut and install it. thats what i did. but mine is an 03 no CEL here. also you need to stop hot exhaust gas from entering the egr cooler thru the up pipe. If you block that off as well as the egr valve you should be good to go and still be able to switch it back. If you save the up pipe and and get another one to modify you can switch back pretty easy when you need to. As far as codes on the 05, you will have to get the a programer with custom tunes to shut off the egr on the computer.
