Hi. My dealership in town here has an '05 Lariat Crew with about 60,000 miles that I'm thinking on buying. I know that 60,000 miles on a diesel is just about the break-in point, and I imagine that most of the bugs on the 6.0 were worked out by 05, but I was wondering if there was anything I should ask about or be concerned with before I sign on the dotted line? I'd love an 08, but this is a shot to get a beepbeepbeepbeep nice truck for about 20K less than new. Any advice would be appreciated.

I can't help, but I'm sure someone will be along that can shortly but it sounds like a nice unite, good luck with it. I have a 7.3, so I'm not that familiar with the 6.0s.

The main thing that you need to do is to request an OASIS report on the truck. If your new to Fords OASIS is Fords internal maintenance system. It will tell you anything that has been done to the truck at a Ford dealership. You can request one here, Marc can get them, but I think you have to be a premium member. If the dealership has nothing to hide they should give you a copy. An 05 is probably good, but if the 6.0 had problems it should have happened under warrenty and will show up on the OASIS report.
