Oil Cooler Replacement

Planning to replace my oil cooler since my temps are way off. What all parts will I need? I plan to strictly replace the oil cooler since I have an egr delete already installed. So far I have:
  1. Oil Cooler
  2. Turbo Hardware
  3. Intake Manifold Gasket

I plan to add an coolant filter and do the blue spring mod also. Thank you for the help!

I'd add a turbo o-ring kit (3C3Z-9T514-AG) to the list. No sense not replacing those as long as you are messing with the tubes. You may also want to check your screen of your IPR valve or just replace it on principle.

Is the oil cooler you have an OEM part?

Fumoto F-108n Coolant drain valves with a 113 O-Ring and Monster blue tape to seal it. Not sure the hose size, but if you bring the valves to home depot, get the wire enforced PVC tubing. To go with it, an IPR coolant gasket.

Also, for the coolant filter, IPR so it's full flow and reusable. To get full flow prior to the oil filter, than a remote oil cooler relocation kit.

Will you replace the EGR? If so BPD. If you delete, just be sure you want to pass any emissions test.

A few of the shops will do oil cooler gasket kits.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely check out the drain valve! I am going with a sinister filter since I am on a budget. Wish I could bulletproof it but not at this time.

If "going with" means that you haven't bought it yet, go with the XDP coolant filter instead. Better hoses and better price.

XDP 6.0L Coolant Filtration System XD143

Use the code "DIESEL10" at checkout for 10% off. You will not regret it.

Awesome, are those filters good or can they be swapped for better?

Bro just take a good hard look at everything you got going on, when I did mine the parts list grew and grew. It's not a hard job so much as it's a time consuming job. Reference Diesel Tech Ron on you tube for Excellent tips and tricks, I must have watched his video at least 20 times while I was doing mine. Just look for worn parts, Mine got new upper and lower hoses, thermostat, heater control valve and Serpentine belt while I was in there. I bought a VGT pig tail and well it's still sitting on my Kitchen table...LOL

The filters that come with it are fine but you can sub a whole bunch of others. It's a standard coolant filter thread size.

Here is a link to when I did my relocation and some other things that you aren't doing. Still, there is enough the same that it may help.

BDP Oil Cooler Relocation and some miscellany

You also may see some things on my list that you want to add to yours. @Beerent93 mentioned belts, for instance. Good suggestion. I did mine.
