EGR Valve?

I was told that there is a shut off switch for the egr valve on the 6.0. Is this true and if so what do you gain by shutting it off, and where is it located?

The only way that I am aware of to physically turn off the EGR is to unplug the wiring harness from the valve itself. Many custom tunes such as SCT have the EGR turned off in their programming.
