Recall letter

I just got a letter in the mail from Ford:
Emissions Recall 05E15 Description: Update the software in the engine control modules, and replace the Exhaust Pressure (EP) sensor, and if affected, replace the EP electrical connector.

I thought you guys might want a heads up.

Certainly/ I just thought I would give a heads up.
Harley, have you had any other recalls on your truck? I have had 2 or 3 others.

Just wondering .... has anyone noticed that fuel mileage actually went down after this recall work was done? I was getting around 16.5 before on my '05 F-350 4x4 crew cab ... now I get 15.5 every tank, no matter how I change my driving style!

What's up with this ... now with fuel around $2.75 here in Indy! Man ... I just can't wait to start pulling my 36' fifth wheel next month!

Oh ... by the way. I found this forum doing a search on the recall ... and look forward to being here often

Probably around 2000 or so. For not using my truck for work .. I drive alot (running the kids a long way to and from school and their mothers house). I bought it at the end of Feb. last year (2005) ... and I already have 35K on it.

Love the truck ... runs like a dream.

give it a few thousand more miles....and drive it like you normally do. these trucks learn stratagy to get maximum performance and milage.......some can be 3 MPG less with the learned stratagy lost (disconnecting battery cables over an hour....reprograms...etc) and see if it comes back.........Marc

And thanks for the welcome!

Yes, I agree with Marc.

Although I preform about 5-6 of these recalls each day I havent heard any complaints of loss of fuel mileage. Several customers have actually recorded better fuel mileage. But just like Marc said, give it some time.
