Oils and Filters

I am currently running Delo 15w40 which is a CI-4 rated oil. I also run a NAPA gold filter. From what I have been reading no one runs either. Everyone is synthetic and motorcraft. Does any one run a non synthentic. Whats the advantages of a full synthetic? If all of you agree Motocraft is the best filter then I am sold. However the oil is not so easy. Full synthetic is extremely expensive. This dirty white boy can't afford it but I will if it's worth it. I live in Boise, Idaho and we don't get extremely cold winters. Down to about 0 on average through the cold months. 100 degree summers. Any input?

synthetic isnt really expensive when you sit down and look at the benifits, cost, gained mpg. i just switched to valvoline extreme blue 5-40. and i dont think i will be going back to dino oil... napa usually runs sales on this oil for $17.99 a gallon so its only about $20 extra for all 4 gallons. the mpg easily make up for the $20 i gained 2mpg on my highway average i was a 17-18 now im at 19.5-20mpg in town average went up about 1mpg. motocraft is the only filters to run... now motocraft synthetic oil i will agree with it it is extremely expensive my dealer quoted me $180 for 15quarts

You should change the filter to a Motorcraft filter. I just finished watching a series of videos on YouTube about what fluids, filters, and fuel additives to use on the 6.0.
