My filter lid is on tight and it was a little weathered so the top broke right off. Once I get a new one (billet maybe...) how hard is it to get off? Do I have to chisel the dang thing off?
Ah, just look at it for a while and you'll think of some kind of device to get it off. Maby a set of vice grips. Is there a little plastic left to grab on to?
None... Sheared off flush. I will have to see if there is any material towards the outer ring and use a big set of water pump pliers... Thanks for the idea.
Which filter wrench are you talking about? I have the one that slips over the bottom of a filter and has the "socket" look, plus the metal band strap type. Don't think either of those will grab... Will take another look after the car show. Gotta love SoCal. Cars all year! :woot::thumb:
get a chisle and hammer ..start a groove with the chisle hitting it counter clockwize (to unscrew it) until u can get enough meat of the cap up to grab holt of it with a pair of channel locks
