how does ford find a leaky injector with outa code?

my buddy has a leaky injector. i havent scanned it yet but i was wondering how you could find out which one it is. what if no codes come up? hes been getting an extra 1 or 2 quarts of diesel in his oil every 700-1000 miles. will he have to bring it to ford?

run it down to near E on the fuel tank and add the appropriate amount of ultraviolet diesel fuel dye and remove the valve covers and start the truck, have a blacklight available and you should be able to find the leaking injector.

That's a good way to find it. Correct me if Im wrong; you can run it, just let it idle though.

Summit has the ultra violet dye. And yes it can run without the valve covers.
