top fuel filter mishap

I was gonna change my top filter and I broke it, I mean I put a 3/4 drive in it and i broke the cap, anyone know how to safely get it apart without getting debris in the housing?

Just try to get it off and if any plastic pieces get in there just pull them out.

get a replacemnt cap , use a hammer and chisel , punch hole in it turn
