Question about priorty of mods

So far my truck only has the MBRP turbo back. I understand that I MUST fix this stock EGR. My truck has 30k. I am getting an SCT tuner with some tunes. I wanted to wait a bit to do my EGR delete..... Will a mild street tune push my EGR cooler set up over the hill quicker than it being stock?

If you mod the EGR up-pipe and ask the tuner to turn off the EGR valve function it can buy you some time.
