New Brakes
I have less than 52K and just replace both rear calipers and pads. The right rear hung up on me about 2 months ago on my way to my uncle's house and the left rear had been hanging up all the time for about the last 2 weeks. I stopped to fill up the tank and smelled brakes, couldn't even touch the left rear rim. I did the math and that last tank I was getting 12.2 mpg.
The right pads were in decent shape, the left ones were terrible and pretty much fell apart in my hands after I had to beat the outer one out of the bracket with a hammer.

Been having the same gremlins...turns out with mine...clogged banjo bolt. Problem solved. I ordered 4 new from the dealer and will be installing them as soon as this Nor'Easter has moved on.

I just finished doing ceramic pads, new rotors, and new calipers on all four corners. Plus power bled all the brake fluid out and put fresh in. So much for the garage checking the brakes for me every 6k when I rotate my tires.
![]() The sliders stuck on both drivers side calipers, and 3 of the boots blew when compressing the pistons in. I don't do one side and not the other, so all four corners got some needed love. Long overdue though. I usually go right through the brakes when I buy something, but these were good on all four when I bought it. So I got 65k out of what was there, and I should be good for another 100k or so. |
