I'm looking for a minimal light bar mount to hold a LED light bar. I like this Ford F250- F350 Super Duty Light Bar 1999-2007 but I'm not big on the price. If I can't find something a little cheaper I'll see what I can make. My welding skills could use a little brushing up. Does anyone know of a retailer making something like this?
I like the look of a LED bar in place of where the fog lights go but I don't want to give up my fog lights. I thought about the grill too but thought that would hinder air flow over the radiator. Having a bar put the light over the bumper but below the grill seems like the right solution. Plus I wouldn't be as restricted to bar size.
I say brush up on your welding skills and make one. Looks like that mounts pretty simply to the bumper bolts and a cross tube.......shouldn't be more than $30 worth of material depending on how you do the cross tube I'd think.
I looked up that part number on Amazon and it shows something different and not rated well. I like the fact it looks like it attaches to the truck as existing mounting points but the Amazon version requires drilling (according to one review and picture). https://smile.amazon.com/N-Fab-F993...d=1485304156&sr=8-2&keywords=N-FAB+Super+Duty
Just use the part number from each to shop around and find the lowest price. If you're unsure if a listing is correct then send the seller a message. The nFab and KC use the factory bumper bolts to install. The smittybilt, i'm not sure, you might have to drill the bumper.
I'd get the textured version and paint it or powdercoat it yourself. I've heard the finish on their running boards can rust if you live in a salty area. Can't say if it's the same for the light bar.
