crazy sound when I put in in reverse.
OK when I put the truck in R and start to back up the truck makes a strange noise. It sounds like something winding up or maybe slipping but the truck backs up fine. I can't tell exactly where it is comming from because the truck has to be moving backwards not just in reverse. The sound only happens for a few seconds then it goes away. Could this be the rear end or is it the tranny or might be brakes? I have put 6k on the truck since I bought it so at 207k I don't know if the fluid has ever been changed
. I was planning to to a flush in the next week. Has anyone heard a noise like this before? Thanks for your help. Last edited by 04FordF250FX4 : 11-06-2009 at 08:05 PM. |

I'm no mechanic but after 210000 miles my guess there is something wrong with the transmission. Maybe they crack is open and it's something small. Good luck.
