Tow ratings for 2003 don't make sense!

Hi all- I noticed the tow rating for a 6.0 TD 2003 F250 Crew Cab 4X4 single rear wheel is only 10,500lbs. The same vehicle from 2000-2002 and from 2004 to 2006 is 12,500 lbs. What happened in 2003? If you click the link below and look for this model, you'll then see a footnote at the bottom of the section noting this particular model is only 10,500 lbs. Anyone know why?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much. With my 2003 6.0l F350, I towed a combined weight of 41,000 lbs on a really regular basis. It was a dually, but essentially it is the same axles, bearings, springs, etc as yours.
