bought my '03 for a hell of a deal last year and have absolutly loved it..only thing that has broke was the driver side rear axle shaft (self inflicted, mud drags) but other than that its been absolutly great..

like macbookinmytruck said make sure it has the FICM flashed, just a small sticker that you cant miss under the hood

I have an '06 and it's been great except for some puking.. (like yosh, self-inflicted).. My grandpas '03 has TONS of miles not just driving, but towing thousands of lbs in tires.. He's had no problems what-so-ever.. It just depends on how it was maintained/driven IMHO, and whether or not you get lucky with the parts on it.. I've seen my dads '03 go MILES upon MILES and not have anything go down except for a water pump and then I've seen my friends '03 get 2 new engines within 3 months... Luck of the draw???

The only reason I wouldnt want a 03 is because of the leaf front suspension, interior, and front end. NOT the engine.

Get an 03 turbo on an 05+ and above truck, and you'll be ok.

I have no problems with my 2003 6.0. I just got back yesterday from hauling a load of straw to our cabin. It pulled up the hills great

The Co. i work for has an 03 king ranch with 275k miles on it. Still runs fine. Had to put injectors in one b/c some dumb a55 put off-road fuel in it. and it had ficm replaced once. other than that its been great. no mods to engine at all. fixing to pull it out to stud heads and delete egr. no beef with 03
