Help need for Newb

I'm changing my oil on my 2006 6.0 for the first time since I got it and im having a hard time figuring out how you take the oil filter cap off. I put a crecent on it and even some channel locks but cant get it to move. Just wanting to make sure I am doing it right.

36mm socket if I remember correctly.
