Maybe part of the plow mount is an impact rated replacement piece?

It is the lower bar that was mounted between your frame tips. It was behind your valance. Mine was deleted when my 6.5" ProComp lift was installed by the previous owner. It would have interferred with the spring mounts. I plan to have my son fab me one to put back on. I believe it is necessary to keep the frame from twisting...mine will when I park with one tire higher than the other.

This piece is replaced with a bracket for the snow plow. What year is your truck? I need one to modify.

Hank nailed it!

no worries. I have an older 7.3 and had to remove a similar piece to mount my plow frame. if you ever sell your truck without the plow frame, you'll need to put that back in. it's a safety issue.
