New Horn!! Need Help
A friend of mine just gave me an old electric 120v horn. I posted a link below to the spec manufacturers web page about it. I need to know the best way to wire it. I have a small power inverter that I can use but it has two black wires and a green (ground) wire. I'm assuming one black is hot and one is neutral. Right? I would like to set it up in one of my upfitter switches. Should I switch the inverter? I am thinking if I do that then it won't be full blast instantly because the inverter will take 1 sec. or so to get up to full power and the sound will die off the same way. Not really what I want.
Also it only produces about 115db Is that worth messing with? Any advice? Thanks for your help. Audible Signals*55*Resonating Horn*Description |

I plugged it up while ago and it sounds more like a buzzer kinda. Like when somebody tries to steal the crown jewels from the Smithsonian.
A loud buzzer though.
