I had the nut break off of the external transmission filter housing today when trying to change the filter. I was using my impact wrench and the right size socket. I've changed the filter regularly -- I guess I put it on too tight last time
How has everyone removed it once its been broken? I'm thinking a good pipe wrench should do it if I can get to it -- if not, I can remove the housing and get it in the vise.
Where can I get another one? Has anyone ditched the factory housing for an aftermarket filter head and different filter?
