Just a few questions
so i have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and have a few questions.
i am looking at a 2005 F250 PSD super duty. i have a lot of stories about how the 6.0L has given people a lot of problems. I want to put a 4 or 5 inch lift on it and new exhaust (turbo back) and i just want to make it bullet proof because i need it to be very dependable. I am not looking to do anything crazy.. thinking maybe a sct tuner. but all i really want from my tuner is economy, smoke, light towing. I was thinking about erg delete but not to sure because i dont really know to much about it. just need some help and some feed back on what i need to do to make it the most dependable truck. |

Studs are a great way to boost reliability, as is the egr delete. if you have not already, run an oasis report to make sure the truck has not had a lot of problems already. As most of the 6.0s are hit or miss, Mine for example has 80k on it stock head bolts and egr, with exhaust and SCT for about 10k and I have not had had any problems out of the truck (except one time I needed the FICM re-programmed)

![]() egr delete if out of warranty and studs maybe. I have a stock 2004 with 200k on it and have seen others with many more miles, so these 6.0s can last. |
