Bad batteries/Poor idle
I was looking at a used F250 6.0L and the batteries were dead on the lot. Its a 2004 and they look to be the original Motorcraft units. They dealer hooked up a jump start pack to each battery. It cranked slow and started on the second try. It sounded good for about 20 seconds then went into a very poor idle condition. It was rough and jumped around. This was with the jump packs removed. They drove it into the garage from there and said they would install new batteries. I left and haven't seen it back out on the lot.
Can poor batteries cause issues such as this? Or is it more complicated?
The trucks OASIS history shows new Injector Control Pressure Sensor and Exhaust Backpressure Sensor at 39146 miles. New Transmission at 41931 miles due to codes they couldn't fix with new solonoids. New injectors at 53575 miles due to rough idle. Front Crank Seal leak and EGR hose leak fixed at 53575 miles. Oil Leak fixed by "leak at hot air duct" at 81579 miles. New Turbo at 81579 miles due to "internal leak". Replace OSS sensor in trans due to slipping in reverse at 91425 miles.
Right now it has 109K miles. Out of warranty...thus my concern. Other than that I like the truck. Dark blue XLT FX4 Crew Cab. Very clean.
