EGR Delete: Finally pulled the trigger!!

Well the title says it all...I finally had the EGR deleted on my truck. I was lucky enough to have this done under warranty and it really help out on the overall cost. I ended up ordering a delete kit from Elite diesel and my overall thoughts on the kit is that it is a very nice kit but there are some minor changes that I would have made. Now that the EGR is deleted on my truck I have a question for the other members here on the org that have been running a delete for a few miles.

1. Berfore the delete my EOT and ECT always ran within 10 degrees of each other, Now after the delete when I was towing my 5th wheel home, sometimes my EOT and ECT would run about 12-18 degrees of each other. My question is....does this sound normal??

Now just to give you guys an idea....when the truck was at the dealership for the delete they also replaced 3 injectors, the IPC sensor, and my FICM.

Congrats, have you noticed any difference in the EGT's, or anything else?

Well yes I belive so. My setup truck and trailer is a little over 18.5K. I was running Cales 65hp tow tune and if I remember correctly my max EGT was 111o. Now i was hitting any steep grades but there are a few good size hills between here and DFW. All in all its a little to early to tell since I have only had the delete for maybe 350 miles but so far I am pretty pleased.

You will have to update us after you have driven it for a couple thousand, on your EGT's MPG's and all the other fun stuff.

Thanks it took me a while to finally pick the ones i wanted. I think rims and tires are the most important exterior mod with the biggest impact on looks for sure.

Yea I am on my second setup and right now I have 2s on 35s. I was happy with this setup at first but now I think I want to go back to a 20 on 35s. I think I might have too look for a set like yours...those are some sharp looking rims.

Send a message via AIM to Abrannan19
a difference of 15* between oil and coolant temp means your oil cooler is probably on its way out.
