EGR cooler upgrade: Bulletproofdiesel

Anyone try this yet? I'm interested to see some people run it. It has a 1 year warranty. Since I'm from california I can't get an EGR delete.

We've installed two of the EGR coolers so far, I'll keep you posted. I will tell you I am comfortable and confident installing these products.

The oil cooler kit basically solves 90% of the pattern failures on the 6.0l.

Most of the info is in here. http://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/DL/...manual1_04.pdf

I run one on my truck. I live in Phoenix. And my oil stays cooler with this kit than the stock cooler. Many of these kits are sold to fleets trying to maximize the ROI on their trucks. I can tell you that they are pleased and keep buying more. Right now we are working on a cold weather kit and an ambulance (e-series) kit.

I have seen one of these EGR Coolers first hand and it is a high-quality unit, for sure! It is a HUGE improvement over the stock design in terms of coolant flow, heat transfer, etc.

I think the next time I have a problem with my egr cooler or oil cooler I'd like to install these. I just had both of mine replaced by Ford, but I think these are both interesting products. My question is the pre 2003 cooler was a lot better than the 04 and later because they were round. Had a less tendency to fail. Can I order the round upgraded cooler and install in my 06? or does it need to be square? The cost of a new cooler through ford is expensive, so $350 for the upgraded one seems great. I've also heard that there is a new way to flush the egr cooler and help prolong longevity.

As for the oil cooler it looks pricey, but also seems to be a big improvement.

The early " round' cooler cost's $100.00 more, so your looking at $450.00 for that unit. we also install at least a new stock oil cooler and coolant filter system on every bulletproof diesel EGR cooler install.
