Considering '03 F250

I have found an '03 F250 with the 6.0 with 74K miles. I was wondering if anyone knows if this was a bad year for the 6.0 as far as reliability issues. The motor is BONE STOCK and i plan to keep it that way. It has a 10" lift on 38's. What type of fuel economy should i expect?

Well it's hit and miss on the 03's. As with all, stud, delete or block the EGR cooler and a majority of your problems will go away...

As far as fuel economy depends on if it's still running the stock gears. If so highway I'd say city 12 to high 13's, highway, 16-17. If corrected with gears, 14-16 city, 17-20 highway...

City on 37's I get 13 and highway I'm high 16's...

drive it first... and when i say drive it... i mean drive it. get all over it and see if it begs for more. then get out and check the overflow reservoir for puking around the lid. if there isnt any it should be good if your gonna keep it stock. but like topdwg said, its hit and miss. i couldnt ask for a better truck in my 03.

I have an 03 and it runs great. I wouldn't be afraid of the 03. Just make sure to check it over and get an OASIS report if you can.

you'll probably never figure out the mpg because that thing will be in the shop more than you can drive it.

I take it you had a hard time with your '06, Powerstroke w Smoke, since you sold it?

i had a 03 and had no major problems except 1 turbo that went bad. it had 38's with 8" lift and 3" body. i ran the truck hard and towed a 10k pds camper too. get a oasis report on it to see if its been in for anything major.

I have an 03 6.0 and no problems with the motor whatsoever. I bought it at 113k and in 10 months I've put 15k on it without an issue (including the 6 weeks she was in the shop after some B!!!h hit me). I love mine and couldn't ask for anything more from her.
