EGR help

so i went to go clean my EGR a few min ago and i know how to do it and everything, but how in hte HE!! do you get the damn thing off..i think i might have tried everything, its in there good..can anyone give me some pointers?

big channel locks, twist and pull

not to be smart azz but thats all i know to do thats how i got mine out

Try the channel locks.

If that doesn't work, I've used a piece of wire looped through both holes (where the 2 bolts pass through) and then pry upward with a 2x4 or crow bar -- and the EGR valve will pop out.

so did you guys take off the intake that is right next to it? i have a high ram intake(banks) and it takes up a little more room that the stock..should i take that off too so i can get to it easier? i tried with the channel lock and almost got it but coudlnt get enough pull room with it..well see thoguht i was taking off the intake to do the Zoodad mod so i might as well do the egr while im there..is it easier if you take off the intake off the intercooler?

if you take the elbow off its a bit easier, then you can also use a 2' pry bar and it will literally pop right out with ease.

Yes, take off the intake riser. I use a small prybar and GENTLY pry up on under the EGR valve while pulling the valve towards the front of the vehicle.

You have to take off the riser if you intend to clean around the EGR port anyways.
