1200 mile trip comin up with 24ft trailer need help

I have my 05 f250 and recently the tow/haul function will not work nothing not even a light ive been told the wires go bad and to just fix them but i dont know how and dont wanna mess it up can someone PLEASE help me i really dont wanna drive from s.c. to OKC at the end of this month with 9,000 lbs and not have this working. Thanks for the help also if anybody thinks it might be something else please let me know. Thanks again.

i tow 9k lbs alot and don't always use tow/haul setting. It will be fine.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Only thing is pay attn if there is a bumpy road and get it out of OD otherwise some awful shaking in the truck from being pushed by the trailer.

just go to dealer to get it fixed worse case drive in 3rd going up or down hill

bad idea...
9k lbs is like half of what your rated to pull so you won't even know its back there except for the slight tuggin you will feel when you hit a bump in the road.
