Hello! As the title says, I'm new to diesels and new to this forum. I picked up a 2006 F250 with the 6.0 with 170k miles. From what I can tell everything is stock, and because of who I am as a person I expect that to change pretty soon.
I'm mostly just wondering if there's any basic or "obvious" mods I can do to it to make it more efficient, powerful, etc..? I know bulletproofing is recommended before really modding it out, but I'm planning on catching up on maintenance first (changing all the fluids, filters, etc..), and then getting gauges and/or a monitor to see how the engine is doing, and then bulletproofing, and then finally modding it.
What would be a recommended monitor?
I read about coolant filters; what kit is the best one to buy?
I also read the air filters are pretty good stock, so should I upgrade the exhaust first? How big should I go?
I'm sure I'll come up with a few more questions as the day goes by, haha.
And I'm sorry ahead of time if I ask questions that have already been answered somewhere in the forum, I've done a fair bit of reading but may have overlooked some answers or maybe I just thought it applied to a different application or something
