Using High Idle Mod
Ok so this morning was a little chilly so I decided to use the high idle. My question is does it hurt anything to just let your truck idle at the 1250 mark like that? I only let it idle for about 5 minutes then I was off to work...

I want to know too since the snow has started to fly here. I've heard idling the 6.0 isn't good for it, but maybe using the high idle is better?

I ususally fire mine up, let it run for a minute, then put it on high idle for a few minutes. I do it everyday for the most part

On cold starts or any start (before using the mod) let the eng idle normal for -at least 30 seconds-. There is all kinds of start up programming !especially cold starts! and the mod well effect them. It would be best to let it have a normal idle a for a lil bit to get eng through its start up procedure, then use the mod.

Do a search for "high idle mod" and you will find some info on it. Basically you hook two wires that are under your dash to a switch and have a high idle when its on.
