Injector Cleaner
Have a 2005 6.0 Liter with 40,000 miles. I have heard how expensive the injectors are and was wondering if there was an injector cleaning I can add to the fuel that would clean them. I am not big on fuel additives but I would be willing to try one if has proven results. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Power Service white and gray bottle. White bottle in the Winter time, it keeps you from gelling up, cleans injectors, boosts cetane, etc. That's what I use.

You can also run 2 stroke oil thru it , but you have to get the 2 stroke outboard motor oil, blue bottle at walmart it says TCW-3 on it. Helps your truck runs smoother and quiter as well.

i run stanadyne performance formula all year round. IMO this is the best additive on the market, its the only fuel additive that is made by an injector pump manufacturer. i run it in every tank and have had 0 problems, runs great and improves fuel mileage abit. 86000 miles and counting on original injectors.

I run stanadyne when I can find it, and power service every tank in the winter. Last couple tanks I put my Klotz 2-stroke snowmobile oil in and my truck loves it. Its a injection/premix oil TCW-3.

Anyone have a pic of the oil used and also how much per gallon?

good, new, clean fuel, SEAFOAM works very well, stanadyne. 2-stroke oil is a good idea as long as you get the right kind, and dont put too much.

Have any of you read the report about all the diesel fuel additives for lubricity, none of these were good options from what I recall.... let me see if I can dig it up.
I do know that 5% bio diesel was at the top of the list and right below that was Opti-lube XPD, which I use a lot. |

Any additive testing within +/- 20 microns of the baseline fuel could be considered to have no significant change. The repeatability of this test allows for a +/- 20 micron variability to be considered insignificant. DIESEL FUEL LUBRICITY ADDITIVES STUDY RESULTS Products 1 through 4 were able to improve the unadditized fuel to an HFRR score of 460 or better. This meets the strictest requirements requested by the Engine Manufacturers Association. Products 1 through 9 were able to improve the unadditized fuel to an HFRR score of 520 or better, meeting the U.S. diesel fuel requirements for maximum wear scar in a commercially available diesel fuel. Products 16 through 19 were found to cause the fuel/additive blend to perform worse than the baseline fuel. The cause for this is speculative. This is not unprecedented in HFRR testing and can be caused by alcohol or other components in the additives. Further investigation into the possibilities behind these poor results will be investigated. Copyright© The Diesel Place & A. D. Spicer August, 2007 There is an actual article wrote up by the diesel place, that describes this with a LOT more information and a lot easier to read, but you catch the drift. |

ok whats the difference you guys are talking about in getting the right two stroke oil. Almost all oil now is TCW-3 anyways and it doesnt matter pre mix or oil injection. I use both in my snowmobiles, dirt bikes, fourwheelers.
