Question Towing with new truck

Hi all. I just traded an 01 7.3 on an 06 250 CC SB Lariat 4x4 ..Black. We pull a 30ft 5er that weighs around 10k loaded. We are going camping next week and I wondered if it's hard on a new motor (6.0 auto) towing with less than 1000miles. I cant wait to try the new tranny, the old 4 speed would really scream after 60mph. I am also curious about how the the intergrated brake controller works compared to the add on one I had before.

Also, any ideas on how to dress up the sides? The sides are kinda plain looking with out the two tone paint. I have really enjoyed lurking and learning this past week. Oh and the 20 inch rims sure do look nice, lots of comments on the great job Ford did on those.

first of all.....drive her like you stole her...lol.....but seriously, that truck is broke in less than 30 seconds after intial start up....so towing with it at any point after you bought it is just do what your gonna do.......the integrated brake conrollers are a bit touchy. if you have ANY slopp or other problems with your trialer side wiring....it will flash a message at you in the message center in the instrument cluster that it came unconnected......just a warning....but besiedes that...and that is usually a concern with home wired trailers....that integrated controller works slick....its a cool feture and works better than any add on one.......Marc

Thanks guys, yea I got the tow command...I think.. It did have the added GVW option. I just cant get over not hearing the motor, the local kids used to climb off the porch when I went down the road thinking the school bus was comming. Sad, they just wave now. I also tow a 16ft gooseneck cattle trailer, cant wait to see how the new motor does.

Thanks again for the quick reply's.

Ford SD

I have a 2006 Ford SD Powerstroke with less than 3000 miles. I pulled first at 1900. Everything was great. I think the manual says wait 1200 miles.

I have the break controller and it was great too. I just was not sure what to set it at. I think I had mine set at 6 for a while then 8. Any thoughts guys?

Thanks for the tips guys. Had the exhaust gate on the turbo open for the first time today....thought the motor was going south. Dealer just laughed when we were talking said many owners have the same thought. The 7.3 never did it, other 6.0 owners I know said it really scared them the first time as well. That loud womp womp womp even shook the wheel.
