06 6.0 f-250 installed egr valve and cooler delete and sct x3 now CEL issue help
i installed my defuser egr valve and cooler delete installation went great without any problems. i got an sct x3 tuner with 3 custom tunes which the egr is supposed to be turned off. i upload the sct and truck cranked up great with out any problems and NO CEL(check engine light). i took the truck for a drive and about 5miles down the road i pull over to try out my 2nd of 3 tunes i upload the tune and crank the truck up and immediatly have a egr code (idk exacty what code it is ill check when i get home but i beleive it was a low egr upstream code) i clear the code with the sct and it goes off only to come right back on. i called the person i got the custom tunes from and he told me to plug the old egr valve in and just let it hang out of the way and that should fix the light. i did it and the light has gone off and stayed off but i thought the sct totally fixed the cel from comming on and thats what the custom tunes were for? the tuner says that 05-06 6.0 are weird and some of them the ,light stays out and some of them dont. and he will try to send me another file. i think he is jerking me around honestly and figured someone here will know what my problem is and point me in the right direction of a professional sct tuner. do yall think his custom tune was b.s. and could have just used the files that were loaded on the sct x3 from sct thanks in advance for any help or advice

ok will do that this evening. do u think the egr is turned off in my custom tune being that the light comes on with the valve not plugged in and is there any merit to what my tuner said as far as the 2006's being tricky when u removethe egr valve

if the light is on, there is a code that's not disabled in the tune, its that simple.

LMAO--better advice would be to call Eric@ Innovative and get some REAL tunes.

Is there really any reason to do away with the valve? Mine is still intalled, plugged in, with the regular Street tune off my SCT and I have had no lights unless it's back to stock. Free bump......

not really, we (FCDP) just want all of the EGR components gone with our setup, so there is ZERO risk of failure, not saying that it will fail, just saying if its not there, it cant fail.
