Quick question for you 6.0 guys.

My dad is looking into getting a 2005 f250 with the 6.0L. I am trying to find info on some of the problems that he might encounter. I myself have a 6.7 cummins and know that all of these newer truck have their own problems. Any information on problems that occur often and how to fix these problems before they happen would be very appreciated. Thank you. I should throw in here that i know nothing about powerstroke at all so ANYTHING would be helpful.

most common problems:

EGR related issues, bad design most common fix is to delete the whole egr system
head bolts/blown head gaskets. weak head bolts that cause the gaskets to let go. common fix for that is to replace the gasket and install ARP head studs. since its an 05 it will still have factory warranty if its under 100k


those 2 things are pretty much the most common problems that you will run into, you may not it just depends. get an oasis and see what has been done to the truck prior to buying and see what was replaced.
