I'm working with a 2005 F350 w/ 6.0. I traded for this one, and the previous owner said that all the injectors were recently replaced, but couldn't find the receipts. I don't have a reason to believe he's lying, but I just don't have proof.
So looking at a power balance, cylinder 8 isn't doing squat. The injector test produced nothing in cylinder 8. I tried AR9100 (only because of all the good reviews), but it didn't help. I decided to just replace the injector and be done with it. The entire time it's never had difficulty starting; only a roughness throughout the entire RPM range. No smoke, and still runs strong.
After replacing the injector, nothing has changed. It still shows crap on the power balance, and no click on the injector test. I ohmed out the harness and all 4 pins are good from the FICM connection to the injector connection. I have a FICM performance code (P0611-60) and a cylinder 8 code (P0284-60). The FICM is showing 54.99V. It took a while to restart the second time I started it after putting it all back together (obviously the first was a long start), but I'm guessing there was just some air left in the high pressure oil rail that hadn't found it's way out yet.
A FICM guy said that it could be the logic board in the FICM, but couldn't really make a good guess without seeing it. What do you guys think? Start shopping for a FICM?
